Localization for the Turkish market
Translation is the easy part. Turkish casing, formats, addresses and consumer-law flows are where software breaks.
Not legal or tax advice. KOD16 is a technical implementation partner. Legal and tax opinions come from our partner Turkish accountants (mali müşavir) and law firms.
What we deliver
- Casing, collation and search folding for Turkish (the "Turkish i" problem)
- tr-TR formats: 1.234,56, ₺/TL, dd.MM.yyyy, 24-hour clock, Europe/Istanbul
- Address model il / ilçe / mahalle and +90 phone numbers in E.164
- Consumer-law flows: pre-information form, distance sales contract, 14-day withdrawal
- Turkish UI copy written by native speakers; legal texts reviewed by a lawyer
A classic bug
"FILE".toLowerCase() // "file" — correct for identifiers
"FILE".toLocaleLowerCase('tr-TR') // "fıle" — correct for Turkish text only
// Use tr-TR for what users read, invariant for keys, e-mails and codes.Frequently asked questions
Do you translate the whole product?
